A 48-year-old man died this Thursday after being run over by a truck while changing the tire on his car on the A-7 highway near Puerto Lumbreras, Murcia. According to sources from the Emergency Coordination Center, the man had parked his vehicle on the shoulder of the highway to change the tire when the tragic accident occurred.
The incident happened around 6:32 PM, at which time the '1-1-2' emergency service received several calls alerting about the incident. In response, Traffic Civil Guard officers and medical personnel in an ambulance from the Emergency and Emergency Medical Management 061 were dispatched to the scene, who unfortunately confirmed the man's death.
The accident has caused traffic congestion between kilometers 646 and 647.25 in the increasing direction towards Almería, as reported by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).
